Dr. Dawn Harter, MD, is a pathologist with comprehensive training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and expertise in digital pathology. She completed her pathology residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), receiving rigorous training across the major disciplines of diagnostic pathology and developing a broad foundation in both anatomic and clinical laboratory medicine.

Dr. Harter's training at UNC provided extensive experience in the evaluation of surgical pathology specimens, cytology, hematopathology, and clinical laboratory medicine. Her broad AP/CP background allows her to approach diagnostic cases from a comprehensive perspective, integrating morphologic findings with appropriate ancillary studies to provide accurate and clinically meaningful diagnoses.

Dr. Harter has also developed expertise in digital pathology and whole-slide imaging, incorporating contemporary digital technologies into the diagnostic practice of pathology. Digital pathology provides opportunities to enhance diagnostic workflows, facilitate subspecialty consultation, improve access to expert interpretation, and support efficient collaboration among pathologists and clinicians.
